Hello Autumn

Happy Fall to you

Phew, what a long few months this has been.  I have not created much art since April, I have created four pieces in total. I was overwhelmed with pain straight through .
God has given me grace into my situation to take away any impulses to create until I was ready to do so.

Instead of art, God has been pruning me as we spend time in His Word together.  I am going deeper into His Word with  purpose to know my Shepherds voice.  I do not want to NOT recognize my Shepherd when He speaks to me.

As I am studying the Prophets right now, I am seeing a theme reoccuring that bothers me.
The theme is God teaching His people through the Prophets, showing them how to live and serve Him and the blessings that come from doing so.  He also clearly shows the consequences if they do not follow Him and over and over again... they fail.

Over and over again they fall into the snares of the enemy... and God's blessings are wasted.

I do not want to fail; I do not want to fall into the snares of the enemy and I do not want ANY gifts the Lord has blessed me with to be wasted.

At the end of my life, when my Abba comes to take me home I want to make sure I have used every good and perfect gift the Lord has given me.

Now, I am on the journey to conquer my stress! :)

I pray you are all doing well.

Many blessings to you
Kelly

My Favorite from this Year

(Art Work: Psalm 121 by Artist Kelly Watts 2014)

I am reposting one of my favorite pieces from 2014 because since April I have been unable to use my arms so well.

Currently I am in therapy with Physio and Accupuncture/IMS treatments and am hoping to be able to get back to work soon.

I pray you are all doing well.

Many blessings

On Things Above

"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the Earth." Colossians 3

This piece was inspired by a 'blog' friend of mine whose art so inspires me and I was trying to achieve the level of peace in my art like she does.

This piece was drawn/colored over designer scrapbook paper.  I used Teal in the background and the butterflies came out golden.

I pray your week is absolutely fabulous.

Many hugs and many blessings to you all.

Bloom Where God Plants You

How often in your life have you thought that you were in the exact place you were meant to be... then suddenly everything falls apart and... boom?!

I've been in this position many times growing up and it takes maturity to finally realize that it is far better to 'Bloom where God plants you.' than try to push our pedals up through impossible ground.

Gods promises are true...

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you hope and a future."

Deuteronomy 31:6 "God will never leave us nor forsake us"

Psalm 139 God knows our hearts completely, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

This piece was created using Copic Markers and Designer Scrapbook paper.

Hugs and many blessings to you all.

Let Your Light Shine

Having fun with a different type of face, a face of a little girl.  I usually just stick to adult women faces.

She was created using my favorite medium Copic markers, blending B00, B02 and B04.  I decided to draw bubbles into the background.  She wasn't finished until the writing on her neck, "Let your light shine."

Praying your week is going very well and that you are very blessed.

Hugs and blessings

My Life is Upside Down For Jesus

Hello blogland.  I am alive... I am slapping my own hand for taking so long to update my blog.

I have been in recovery mode from surgery since August last year, what a crazy year it's been, but God is good and has been with me always.

I just got home from a week away after kidnapping my Sister and taking her to visit with our Aunt and Uncle.  We had a lovely time and an emotional time also.
I really needed to see her and make sure she was okay (after her car accident two years ago), I haven't been able to go and visit her in person.

I have been experimenting with different forms of art and I am having a great time teaching at a woman's recovery house, i am teaching healing art journaling.  It helps me to volunteer, even if it is only two hours every two weeks, at least I can give back a little bit.

I am getting back into creating a few more art journal pages... it's a slow process but I will get there.

I pray you are very blessed and are having a wonderful day.

Hello Blogland, I'm Back to the Land of the Living!

"Faith Through Love" @2014 Kelly Watts

First of all... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Just a bit late!

I have been in full blown recovery mode.  It has been almost two and a half months since my Hysterectomy and I have finally been able to get back to some art work.

Yahoo!

So.... to start this post off I will share with you the above piece "Faith Through Love", it is my phrase for 2014.  I will live by them as much as I can through out the year and attempt to love everyone as God loves them, unconditionally.

"Oceans" @2014 by Kelly Watts

Second on the agenda is my piece "Oceans (song lyrics by Hillsong)".  In the background and on the hood of her cloak I have written the lyrics to this beautiful song.  If you get a chance please listen to this song, it is amazing.
Her eyes are piercing like a fierce ocean.

"To Live is Christ" @2014 by Kelly Watts

Thirdly, my last show and tell... "To Live is Christ".  I have always been deeply touched by this verse, it expresses a loyalty beyond what is seen.

Our purpose is to be Christ in this world; to love, to share, to give, to extend, to build-up, to take care of, to be the light in the darkness.
With my entire being I want to be this!

When all is said and done and I'm standing before my Father in Heaven,
may HE say to me,
"Well done, good and faithful servant."

I pray that my art expresses this longing of my heart... to serve the Father with all the gifts HE has given me.

Be blessed my Dear Friends
With much love.

My God Knows Me and Loves Me

Hello everyone!  I pray that you are all very well and are being blessed in every way.

I am sorry for my absence from here... I have had a number of hard months and am expecting another few hard months to come.

God is good all the time,
all the time, God is good!

I am scheduled for a hysterectomy at the end of the month and it will take a couple of months to recover.
I don't think I will be creating any art during that time, but you never know.

Because I have God as my hope and salvation I will not fear,
He is my HOPE and gives me HIS PEACE
that surpasses all understanding,
I will not fear.

I am going to be telling myself that for awhile.

Living with a Chronic Illness is plum hard!  I cannot even explain what it is like but to say that I constantly feel like I go one step forward and ten steps back.
God keeps pushing me forward, holding me up, helping me to stand...

His still small voice whispers in my ear,
"You can do this Kelly, this is what I created you for,
to shine in the darkness, to bring light to the captives,
to share the comfort I have given you to others...
you can do this..."

"You can do this..."

Okay God, I will listen and embrace your words.
I will hold firmly onto your strong and solid foundation,
I will harness myself to your strength and I will follow YOU.

Though the path may darken and the pain grow stronger,
I will trust in you for my comfort.
You and only YOU direct my path Lord.

I will not fear!

Be blessed my dear friends and know that God is always with
you, He never leaves nor forsakes you!

With much love and many blessings

The Fruit of the Spirit, Windswept

Playing around with the wind swept look and the Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians.
I am addicted to drawing women with windswept hair and I had so much fun lettering the Fruit of the Spirit into her hair.

I pray that the Fruit of the Spirit shines in you.

I worked on this piece a little at a time.  The subject being my favorite Psalm 139.

I drew her head with a heart stencil, this is the first time I have tried this and it worked out lovely.

I think it has made a really pretty face.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Having Fun With A New App

Photo: My month of June #collectapp ! What a great idea!

I am not a very technological person, however, I am getting used to some fun apps.  This one is called "Collect".  It is a monthly calendar where you can take a photo per day and at the end of the month they will all be in each days slots.  You can also just add pictures to each day at the end.

I had so much fun with that!

Photo: Working on a little something for my wonderful pen pal. 1 Corinthians 13.

Lastnight I was able to work on this little Scripturedoodle on 1 Corinthians 13.  I made this for my penpal.

Still excited about being involved with MADE: e-course.
